Platform moves

Switch platforms. Keep everything.

  • Products and orders
  • Rankings kept
  • Shipping and apps

the short version

WordPress to Shopify, Shopify to WordPress, or to custom React.

Moving your site to a new platform: WordPress to Shopify, Shopify to WordPress, or to and from custom React. Your products, orders and rankings come with you.

A platform move, some call it a migration or replatforming, is when your site changes what it is built on. We move WordPress sites to Shopify and Shopify Plus, Shopify stores to WordPress, and sites to and from custom React builds, with 301 redirects so you keep your Google rankings, and shipping and apps connected before launch. Going from Shopify to Shopify Plus is not a move: it is the same store on a bigger plan.

  1. 01Products and ordersProducts, customers and order history come with you to the new platform.
  2. 02Rankings kept301 redirects point every old address at its new one, so Google keeps sending people.
  3. 03Shipping and appsShipping and the apps you rely on, connected before launch.
  4. 04Team trainedYour team learns the new platform, so they run it themselves.

questions

Asked and answered.

Which platform moves do you do?

WordPress to Shopify or Shopify Plus, Shopify to WordPress, and to or from custom React. For Puff Ignite and Ignite Spirits we moved WordPress to Shopify Plus.

Is going from Shopify to Shopify Plus a move?

No. It is an upgrade on the same platform: your store, products and orders stay where they are. That work sits under Ecommerce.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the move is done right. 301 redirects point every old address at its new one, so search engines and old links still land on the right page.

What about shipping and our apps?

They move too. For Puff Ignite and Ignite Spirits we connected ShipStation, so orders ship the way they did before.

Where is NLY Media based?

Toronto, Ontario. We move sites for brands across Canada, the US and Europe.
